Nuwe Lewe Tygerberg worship ministry is fortunate to have an exceptional group of gifted musicians. Philip and Marsanne met while studying Music at Stellenbosch University. During this time they both received Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and became involved in the student ministry at their local church. They were married in 2010 and after moving to a different town they joined Nuwe Lewe Tygerberg in 2012. Philip and Marsanne both currently teach Music for a living and are expecting their first child early 2016.
Charl has been involved in worship ministry (sound engineer and guitar) since 2005 and Leachen (keyboard and vocals) joined the worship team in 2009. They soon fell in love and married in 2011. They were blessed with their son, Benjamin, in 2014.
Apart from making music, each ministry member has a passion for making Jesus' name great and to spend time in His presence. The opportunity to lead others herein is a great honor and privilege. The band comes together every Thursday evening to practice together for Sunday worship. We learn new songs every quarter and in so doing remain up to date with the latest music. We also encourage our musicians to write their own songs. Please contact us if you would like to join this ministry.
Nuwe Lewe Tygerberg teenagers join in with NISH which is a teen’s ministry in the Welgemoed and Bellville area.
They meet during the service on Sundays and they can connect with cell groups which meet during the week.
It is very important for us to teach our teens what it means to be a disciple of Jesus from an early age while they spend time in the Word and have fellowship with other teens.
I am originally from Benoni. I live in Durbanville with my wonderful husband Marc. I love people and I am game for any sport. I strive to be a disciple of Jesus 24/7 and to magnify His name wherever I go.
I am a primary school teacher in Bloubergstrand and really love to work with children of all ages. Their sincerity and honesty, willingness to learn, their creativity and spontaneity, to see things from their perspective and to learn from them, these are all aspects that make my heart burn with a passion for them. Not only is it important for me to stimulate children on an intellectual level every day, but also to encourage them to develop on a spiritual level, and I'm very fortunate to be part of the children's ministry team at Nuwe Lewe Tygerberg. My dream at Nuwe Lewe Tygerberg is to foster a burning desire in the heart of each child on his / her level to WANT to learn more about Jesus every week. To show them and teach them how to have a relationship with Him and walk with Him every day, to encourage them to be His hands and feet wherever they go.
We have such a great responsibility as adults to set a good example for children and show them how to be true disciples of Jesus. Everything they learn in childhood forms the basis of their relationship with him when they are older. If you feel led to join our ministry please feel free to contact me.
For Nuwe Lewe, it is important to be involved in missions as well as the local community. Locally, we are involved in Delft and Wallacedene. The congregation do evangelism outreaches in Delft and we are involved in monthly food projects. The youth in Delft also gather weekly at Hindle High School where they are served by the Blue Bus Ministry. Directed by Izanette van Schalkwyk, the Gospel is used to uplift and equip the community.

Then He said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest.

Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you.
